FOR HIS GLORY. FOR ETERNITY.

Faith in action.
Built to last.

The mission is Jesus Christ. Our heart is to serve alongside the local church, make disciples, and help build work that continues long after we go home.

THE HEART OF BEMA

More than a project.
A lasting purpose.

Construction, meals, and practical help can open doors. The purpose behind them is to proclaim the Gospel, strengthen the local church, and make disciples.

BEMA stands for Build, Establish, Multiply, Advance. The 28:19 points to the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19. These four words keep the vision grounded in what happens after a team returns home.

01 / B

Build

Meet practical needs that local leaders identify. Put useful skills to work where they can serve the church and community.

02 / E

Establish

Strengthen relationships and local ministry. Plan with the people who will carry the work forward every day.

03 / M

Multiply

Invest in disciples and leaders who can help others grow in their faith. Make room for the next generation to serve.

04 / A

Advance

Keep the Gospel at the center. Help the work of the local church continue beyond one trip or one team.

THE VISION, ILLUSTRATED

OUR DOMINICAN REPUBLIC FOCUS

Relationships first.
Then the work.

The vision is growing out of relationships in Cachón, near Barahona, and a desire to serve alongside Pastor Luis and the local church.

We want to listen carefully, understand real needs, and help in ways the community can sustain. Local leadership, clear responsibilities, and wise stewardship belong at the beginning of every project.

01

Listen before we build.
Let local needs shape the work.

02

Serve alongside local leaders.
Honor the people already doing ministry.

03

Think beyond the visit.
Ask who will use and maintain what we help create.

THE NEXT CHAPTER

Prepare well.
Follow God’s lead.

Our next step is a planned January 2027 scouting trip: time to learn, listen, assess needs, and discern the right way forward.

JANUARY 2027 · IN PLANNING
01

Learn from ministry on the ground

Observe an established ministry model and spend time with local leaders. Understand what is working and where support would help.

02

Bring clarity to the priorities

Review leadership, ownership, safety, water, power, storage, and essential repairs before committing to larger projects.

03

Choose the next faithful step

A small useful project may be appropriate. Learning and gaining clarity may be the most valuable work of the trip.

FOUR QUESTIONS BEFORE EVERY PROJECT

  • Who owns it?
  • Who will use it?
  • Who will maintain it?
  • How does it advance the Gospel work of the local church?
Go therefore and make disciples
of all nations…

MATTHEW 28:19 · ESV

THERE IS A PLACE FOR YOU

Begin with prayer.
Be ready to serve.

You do not need to have every answer to take a faithful first step. Pray for the work, consider the skills you can offer, and start a conversation.

Bring what God has put in your hands.

Construction, teaching, organization, language skills, and a willingness to help can all serve a team. Tell Barb where you would like to contribute.

Future team opportunities will follow the scouting work and local conversations. Trip dates, projects, and participation details are still being developed.

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you go.

Is January a team mission trip?

The planned January 2027 visit is a scouting trip focused on learning, relationships, and assessing priorities. It is preparation for future ministry opportunities. General team registration is not open through this site.

Do I need construction experience to help?

There are many ways to serve. Practical skills, teaching, language, logistics, and prayer can all contribute. Specific team roles will depend on local needs and the plans that emerge from the scouting work.

What makes a project a BEMA priority?

It should strengthen the local church and serve a real need. We start with clear ownership and responsibilities, consider who will maintain the work, and ask how it supports Gospel ministry over time.
